                                        st
The workers holiday of 1 May was celebrated in
style again this year by members of Habonim Dror.

The shnat and workshop groups spent the morning
learning about the history of the day, whilst the
tnuat bogrim spent a day of learning too, with
everyone coming together at the main event in
             central Tel Aviv.

It felt special to be one of the movements
officially organizing the events in Tel Aviv,
                                                           alongside the other Israeli Socialist-Zionist
                                                                youth movements of Hashomer Hatzair,
                                                                Machanot Ha’Olim and Ha’Noar Ha’Oved
                                                                                               Ve’Halomed.

After the morning of peulot at Efal, we all jumped
on buses that took us to Rabin square where we
mingled with everyone else that were congregated
there. There was a sea of movement shirts and red
             flags.

As the procession began through the closed streets of

Tel Aviv, with each movement marching in turn, songs and
chants could be heard and so too the drumming of the
marching band - chanichim from the Arab sector of
                                           Ha’Noar Ha’Oved Ve’Halomed.

Once we arrived at the square of the Tel Aviv

Museum, musicians from the movements played
some songs and there were a few speeches,
including from our very own Shani Danby from
                                                                                                  HDOZ.
