Habonim/Habonim Dror Reunion

So many years have gone by

It’s difficult to remember all your names even if I try.

Still, the memories keep flooding back

And of stories to tell, there is no lack.

How we all started out with ideals and dreams

And of our varied experiences we must have written reams.

However, slowly everyone settled down

Some, like me, have ended up in town.

Others decided to go back home

In Israel they were no longer happy to roam.

Those that stayed had a job to do

Even tho’ many of us started without a clue.

Our best crop was the children we bore.

We’re now into generation three and four!

The passing years have done their worst

But in the future of Israel we have not lost our trust.

Death has caused our numbers to be far less

But Habonim has made its mark in Israel’s progress.
