Name: Naomi Kassel Kvutsah: Aseef No. of Members: 6

Date of Aliyah: I was born in Israel – I was on shlichut for HDNA and
it got me thinking about the way of life I wanted in Israel when I came
back. In the March before I came back Ruth asked me if I would like
to live with her in a kvutsah, and I said I’d think about it. I thought
more and eventually it actually happened!

Describe Location: Ramat Gan – Big house with a beautiful roof,
complete with a roof-garden and a view of Park Hayarkon, Bnei Brak and my college. Close to our
house is Andre’s ice cream parlour which is open 24 hours a day and has more or less became

part of our house. It’s also cool to live close to Kvutsat Keshet.

Favourite Socialist / Zionist. Why? AD Gordon. Even though we live very different lives than
him or how he thought we should live, I still think that his ideas raise a lot of questions relevant
to our lives in Israel as a kvutsah

Funniest Movement Moment: Ruth’s weekly Friday night dinner joke when she talks to the
challah “hey challah, don’t worry, you’re still my number one, we didn’t bless anything before
you!” It still cracks me up!

Food you would rather not eat? Celery

What are you reading right now? Law books

What music are you listening to right now? Ha'Keves Ha'Shisa-Asar – You know, ha’yalda achi
       yafa be’gan

Vision for the new Kibbutz Movement… I want to see many kvutsot in Israel working with the
different movements around the world and doing things in Israeli Society as educators and
generally helping Israeli Society i.e. As a human rights lawyer which is what I am working on
       becoming.
