Date of Aliyah: 13 or 14 Jan, 2002. (There is an ongoing
argument with Marcus over which date is correct).

Favourite Socialist / Zionist. Why? Dov Ber Borochov and AD
Gordon. Gordon for his concept of work: The religion of labour – living to work, to be productive,
to effect change. The world won't change unless we do the work to make it happen. Borochov
simply because there would be no Socialist-Zionism without him – my history in Habonim Dror
would not have happened without him.

Funniest Movement Moment: When I was on shnat, working in the banana fields, a fellow
shnattie needed a poo, so he got completely naked and hung all his clothes on his knife that he
had stuck in a tree. Our boss showed up. Hilarious.

Would you rather have one leg ridiculously shorter than the other or arms that don't
       bend?
Jez proceeds to stand up, limp around the room, swinging a straight arm around, then he trips
up. He has proved that his answer is the correct one - "arms that don't bend".

Current Ringtone: I Love Rock n Roll

                                                                                                              nd
What are you reading right now? "As a Driven Leaf" by Milton Steinberg. It's about the 2
temple period. Describing what it is like to grow up in a Roman/Greek environment 2000 years

ago; dilemmas which Jews growing up in the Diaspora face today.

What music are you listening to right now? Going through a strange 105.5 phase – Reshet
       Gimel

Food you would rather not eat: Meat and Olives. Mushrooms in cream sauce. Beetles (?)

Vision for the new Kibbutz Movement… A network of small collective/socialist communities
based on values of intimacy, support, tikkun olam and tikkun atzmi that work all together as
partners (interdependently), fighting the injustices and inequalities that plague Israeli society
today. Also setting an example and building a viable future and destination for Diaspora Jewry
to come to and learn from.
