Four thousand years later, embedded with the values of
Chalutziut, Socialist-Zionism, and Shivyon Erech Ha’adam,
we, as contemporary olim, are continuing to make these
journeys to actively take part in the ongoing project of
building and rebuilding the nation that our ancestors began
all those years ago.
It was with these values that we embarked last week on
Derech Rabin – a much less physically taxing than what
Avraham probably would have experienced but no less
spiritually important journey on the outskirts of Kibbutz
Ravid to remember the life, values, and legacy of Yitzchak
Rabin and the vision that he had for the peoples who inhabit
Eretz Yisrael today. We experienced this journey together as
the Ma’agal (comprised of three shchavot in the Tnuat
Habogrim that align with Shnat 2014-2017) and sought to
explore questions of democracy, peace, memory, and
