We went on Hagshama Seminar earlier this year (wow,
can’t believe how much has happened this year),
originally as two separate kvutzot, but by the end of
the seminar, we saw how we interacted with one another
and how we would be stronger as one kvutzah.
This Spring saw us reevaluating what we wanted for
ourselves as a kvutzah and our relationships with one
another and our madrichimot. It was hard though, as
around that time, the pandemic hit. We all became
isolated from one another, with no clear future of us
coming together physically as a kvutzah. This was a
scary time. We didn’t know whether our kvutzah would
come out the other side as so many of us were focusing
our energy to make sure that machaneh succeeded along
with being massively burnt out by zoom. We met once in
a while over the summer to check in, play some games, or
have a peulah with our international kvutzot, but we
didn’t really have a clear idea of what our kvutzah
was.
It wasn’t until the Fall when our madrichimot started
reaching out to us again to truly renew our kvutzah.
They asked many of us to be a part of it and to decide
whether we wanted to be committed to a shared process.
We didn’t get off to the strongest start either. It was
hard to get all of us together at once, and a few peulot
had to be moved/canceled because people didn’t come.
But, it was also a time of bringing different pieces
together. People spoke to other people who they hadn’t
connected with in a long time. Others were getting to
know each other for the first time over zoom. People
