The neighborhood I do messima in in Rishon
Letziyon is the most populous neighborhood in
the city. It’s called Schunat Rambam. 40,000
people. It also has one of the highest rates of
poverty in the city. The makeup of the
neighborhood is primarily immigrants from the
former Soviet Union and their children, Ethiopian
immigrants and their children and second
generation Mizrahim and their children. Families
range from 3-7 children, living in 1-4 bedroom
apartments, on average. In other words it’s
crowded. And there is a lot of interaction between
people, but not necessarily because that’s what
