Name: Dan Filson
Date of Aliyah: 18/08/08
Kvutsah: ‘No name’ (In the meantime affectionately
known as Kvutsat Shpritz)
No. of Members: 5½
Describe Location: Opposite Tiv Tam (In Ramat Gan)
Favourite Socialist / Zionist. Why? Rachel the poetess – I just love the way she writes.
And she sacrificed so much.
Why does your nose RUN and your feet SMELL? I don’t know – but it’s weird that
some people’s feet smell of vinegar and some people’s feet smell of cheese, no?
Funniest Movement Moment: Anton and I made pasta bake on winter camp, which
involved recycling the leftovers from the previous meal - a particularly disgusting stir
fry. We just added Korma sauce and pasta, put it in the oven, and vowed that ‘they’ll
never know’. They did.
Current Ringtone: A tune I made up on the phone. My alarm is the Klaxons. You’ll hate it.
It’s what I wake up to.
What are you reading right now? ‘I and Thou’ (Dan Conn and I do ‘Bedtime Buber’) and
Metamorphosis by Kafka
What music are you listening to right now? The Postal Service and The Shins
Food you would rather not eat? Sweetcorn, baked beans and pasta. Basically, habo made
me not like a lot of food. Years of nasty sticky pasta.
Vision for the new Kibbutz Movement… For there to be partnerships between
communities, kibbutzim and kvutsot in making the world a better place. And for it to be a
safe place for individuals to create better relationships with one another; to put
humanity back at the centre of relationships
Tafkid in the movement: Learning Hebrew at Ulpan and future shnat madrich.
