No!!!!!!!!!! You should bring a friend and start to
educate your family about what it means to have more
types of love in your life other than just romantic love.
It is totally legitimate to bring a pal to a meal so that
you don’t get bored watching your cousins feed their
children while being honest about your relationship
status.

Fearful that your parents will react weirdly? Just tell
them: “Hi!! This year I’m going to bring a special
someone to dinner” and then when they say, “omg
yes!!” that’s when you say, “this special someone is

just a pal, but I’m really excited for them to come!!”
They’ll have already reacted so excitedly that they
won’t be able to take it back.
