bees pollinating the
avocado blossoms.
And when Tu
B’Shevat came and
my kvutsah had a Tu
B’Shevat Seder
together, I found
myself connected to
the holiday in a new way. The lychee trees
One of my favorite parts about the movement has always
been that it has given me
community, and
specifically Jewish
community. A wonderful
group of people to share
traditions, prayers,
celebrations, and values.
It has connected me to
The Jewish People and to
my own Jewish
community and identity.
But this is something else
- it isn’t Judaism rooted in
community or other
people, but Judaism from
connection to land and
nature. And it is so
Me after a morning of mango gizum beautiful for me to find
(trimming) this, too, in the
movement.
