Name: Sam Edelman
Messima: I'm on the tzevet of Dror Mata'im
Chinuchiim (aka tha mata'im at Ravid)
where I'm mostly responsible for maintaining
the irrigation system.
Years in the movement: 2002-2016 in
HDNA, 2016-Present in Dror Israel
Favourite Socialist / Zionist: Hanna
Sennesh. The way she writes about being an olah and the
dilemmas of choosing hagshama is just so honest and relatable.
Funniest movement moment: When I was on mazkirut at
machaneh and we realized about half an hour beforehand that no
one had planned a tochnit erev and so the three of us dressed up
as an alien, a pirate, and a robot who had come to Earth to learn
about sororities, and so each shichvah had to do various
challenges that we made up on the spot to prove that they were
the best sorority. The kids loved it.
Current ringtone: Silence
Food: Burritos
What am I reading: Blindness by José Saramago
Music: Whatever spotify's algorithms tell me i'll like.
Vision for the new kibbutz movement: That it will continue to
find more and more ways of being relevant to people from all
parts of Israeli society (through the youth movement, unionizing
workers, developing local partnerships, and much more!).
