However, I ran a
Peulah on Thursday
for our Muchanimot
on Socialism, its
origins and applying
it to the modern
world, looking
specifically at social
democracies in
Europe. We then applied this to summer camps in
particular, and how socialist values and qualities can
still be carried out in our day to day lives and not just in
the detached world we live in on camp.
We also organised sessions for the Jewish Labour
Movement’s one day conference, including sessions on
the future of progressive Zionism (featuring ex-bogeret
of HDUK Hannah Weisfeld, the founder and director of
Yachad, the pro-Israel pro-peace movement of British
Jews) and a session on urban kibbutzim and social
change (run by ex-boger Anton Marks from Kibbutz
Mishol). Harrison, the Mazkir of HDUK also contributed
to a session about students with the Shadow Minister
for Further Education and Universities.
There was quite a significant presence of current and
former members of the Movement, both as
participants, and as speakers. Human Rights Lawyer
and ex-boger Adam Wagner was another on the list of
speakers.
